My name is Cassandra Catesson and my little sister Emilie and I have created this Operation NeuroFREEdback to make Neurofeedback sessions available to as many Veterans as possible for FREE. I saw how much NeurOptimal neurofeedback helped my mom with her PTSD. Before NeurOptimal Neurofeedback, she was hyper-vigilant, obsessive and super anxious. Now, she is so much easier to live with. She and we are so much happier since she received her neurofeedback. Even the people at work noticed a big difference in her.
Unfortunately, NeurOptimal Neurofeedback is not widely known thus not easily accessible. With that, we figured that if we had a machine, we could go to the Vet Center and offer free sessions to Veterans where they are most likely to be in great numbers. Luckily, our school is just 3 miles from the Vet Center. The veterans really like the results they experience and we are happy to be able to help them.
While most people have heard the saying “Freedom isn’t Free”, most people do not know the true cost our military’s men and women pay for recovery from their service. Not only does recovery cost money, but we also need to consider the time and strain it puts on these really great people and their families.
Neurofeedback sessions are expensive on an individual basis, averaging $120 with people requiring 15-20 sessions on average. It would cost approximately $100,000 for 50 veterans to seek neurofeedback individually. We found this cost can be dramatically reduced by purchasing multiple machines and using volunteers to run the sessions. With school right down the road, we already have a good pool of volunteers!
Zengar NeurOptimal agreed to lend us a neurofeedback machine to start running sessions while we fund-raise to purchase our own machines. By purchasing the machines outright, we can serve more veterans in more places year over year.
